Thanks again to all those who have been so supportive!
I think you should have left out the word “cheap” in front of thrill in reference to the listing in the Library of Congress Catalogue. Being too modest.
Yesterday TCM ran a slew of Joan Crawford MGM vehicles from the 1930s. I dvr’ed a few, including “Today We Live”, which I hadn’t seen in years. It was directed by Howard Hawks, a year after he made his 2 films with Ann. After viewing, I reread the section of Todd McCarthy’s exhausive bio pertaining to this period in Hawks’ life. According to McCarthy, Ann & Hawks definitely had an affair, and it lasted a little longer than many of Hawks’ other flings. In fact, he mentions that she was one of the small handful of actresses that he actually used twice. I may have posted this before, but I anxiously look forward to finding out what other details you were able to discover about this liaison.
