I think I&#8217;ve used it in the past for the 4th of July. I&#8217;ll probably use it again.<\/p>\n<p>While were on the subject of the Executive Branch -\u00c2\u00a0 Ann Dvorak claimed to have been a direct descendent of Vice President John C. Calhoun. I have found absolutely no proof to back this up, and I work in a library with an extensive genealogy department. Both of Ann&#8217;s grandparents on her mother&#8217;s side were Czech immigrants, and her paternal grandfather came from Scotland. That leaves Edwin McKim&#8217;s mom, but she was from a line of Pittsburgh people, whereas Calhoun and his kin were Southerners.<\/p>\n<p>I like to think that Ann would be happy with what I have done to promote her as an actress, but she may have been less than thrilled with some of the debunking I have done.\u00c2\u00a0 At any rate, Happy President&#8217;s Day!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Year of Ann Dvorak: Day 49 This is probably the most patriotic photo I have of Ann.
