Year of Ann Dvorak: Day 49<\/h3>\n

This is probably the most patriotic photo I have of Ann. I think I’ve used it in the past for the 4th of July. I’ll probably use it again.<\/p>\n

While were on the subject of the Executive Branch -\u00c2\u00a0 Ann Dvorak claimed to have been a direct descendent of Vice President John C. Calhoun. I have found absolutely no proof to back this up, and I work in a library with an extensive genealogy department. Both of Ann’s grandparents on her mother’s side were Czech immigrants, and her paternal grandfather came from Scotland. That leaves Edwin McKim’s mom, but she was from a line of Pittsburgh people, whereas Calhoun and his kin were Southerners.<\/p>\n

I like to think that Ann would be happy with what I have done to promote her as an actress, but she may have been less than thrilled with some of the debunking I have done.\u00c2\u00a0 At any rate, Happy President’s Day!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
