Year of Ann Dvorak: Day 25
Have I mentioned how much I love Girls of the Road? I thought so (see here and here). Yes, it’s delightfully campy but also extremely entertaining and there is a social message in there somewhere.
Likelihood of an Official DVD Release: It’s a Columbia film, whose rights should reside with Sony, who has turned over their burn-on-demand operation to the Warner Archive…so, maybe? Blind Alley, which is the same studio from the same era was released, so let’s hope Girls if the Road is on someone’s radar.
Glad to say I’ve seen Girls of the Road and like it a lot. Almost like a documentary about these girl hobos. Ann well supported by Lola Lane and Helen Mack.
Thank you for making me realize how good Ann is. I hope to see more of her films.

Hi Vienna, Thanks for checking out the site. A few posts back I made some Ann recommendations if you’re looking for films. When I get home from my road trip, I’ll add your blog to my links. (And I added “good” to your comment.)
